2001 Chicago Auto Show

Debuted at the Detroit Auto Show, Ford's extreme two-seat EX concept vehicle features removable composite body sections mounted onto an exo-skeleton frame of Chrome-moly steel. No doors, no handles, so side frames are padded for greater comfort getting in and out. The steering wheel and instruments are also mounted on a mechanism that glides from side to side for easier entry and exit. The bronze tinted windshield folds down and clips to the top of the hood for open-air driving, and passengers are secured by four-point safety belts. Finally, the floor is washable and features molded rubber nonskid pads and floor drain plugs for easy cleanup after the ultimate outdoor experience.
