The new Audi A4 Cabriolet made its much-anticipated world debut at Frankfurt incorporating classic styling features from the original design, but with a newer, more contemporary flavor. Two engine choices, a 170-hp/1.8-liter and a 220-hp/3.0-liter aluminum V-6, are available for the front-driver, as well as an optional continuously variable multitronic automatic transmission. A true four-seater, the convertible boasts an electrohydraulic top and heated glass rear window as standard equipment. Safety items include an active rollover protection system that deploys protective bars within milliseconds in the event of a rollover, electronic stability program, and hydraulic brake assist. Audi is taking orders now, though delivery will begin in April 2002.
