2001 Frankfurt Motor Show
A breathtaking design, the Jaguar R-Coupe was a standout at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Spun off the S-Type platform, the luxury four-seater is the first vehicle to explore and demonstrate Jaguar's new design philosophy, a style that we anticipate will manifest with the next XJ and more so on the 2004 F-Type roadster. Modern furniture and interior design inspired the styling and materials for the R-Coupe's luxurious, clean, and modern cabin, while abundant wood and leather help create a highly tactile interior. Ten-spoke alloy wheels are wrapped by ultra-low-profile Continental tires, with a unique 'Jaguar Cat Claw' pattern in the treads and on the ventilated and cross-drilled brake discs at each corner. Despite rumors of a production S-Type coupe, Jaguar has said the R-Coupe is strictly a design exercise.
