Mercedes-Benz debuted the fifth-generation of its SL sports car, the high-performance SL55 AMG. Featuring a newly developed 476-hp V-8 supercharged engine capable of pulling 0-62 mph in just 4.7 seconds, the roadster also benefits from such standard high-tech features as a new electrohydraulic brake system, Sensotronic Brake Control, Active Body Control, Electronic Stability Control, and sensor-operated climate control. We particularly like the vario-roof, which transforms the roadster into a watertight coupe in just 16 seconds. Inside, leather, aluminum, and wood wrap passengers in delicious luxury, though sporty drivers will certainly appreciate the five-speed automatic tranny operated via a race-car-style steering column gearshift.
