2001 Frankfurt Motor Show
Walter deSilva's design team at the SEAT Technical center designed this two-seater in true spyder style; open and minimalist, with flowing lines that blend textures and materials in a pure, no-compromise design. Unpolished aluminum tubes (descended from the World Rally Car safety cage) are visible throughout the cockpit like a metal skeleton under its waterproof leather upholstery. Arched bodyside mouldings blend with sweeping lines to evoke a very fluid image, and the side window glass adds to the picture with their downward-sloped form. Unusual lighting options are a strong design element, featuring variable intensity LED foglamps, and Xenon headlights and sidelights that follow the direction of the front wheels.
