Further proving that Volvo is thinking outside its IKEA-constructed box, the Swedish automaker showed a new Performance Concept Car (PCC) based on a V70 wagon. Like the S60-based sedan that made the show circuit last year and has since been green-lighted for production, the Laser Blue wagon boasts a potent 300-horsepower five-cylinder engine mated to a compact six-speed manual gearbox. Putting the power to the asphalt is a continuously adjustable chassis with electronically controlled all-wheel drive. This system is able to collect information about the way in which the car moves and to respond instantly by adjusting the damper characteristics to suit.
