The Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor is making its rounds through the auto show circuit, drawing favor at every stop. This trim new coupe is smaller than the sedan on which it is based and features smart front airbags, curtain side airbags, Tele Aid emergency call system, ESP stability control, and a particularly innovative sliding sunroof. Expected to be priced under $30,000, the sporty hatchback will be powered by a 2.3-liter/190-hp supercharged and intercooled engine, with choice of six-speed manual transmission or five-speed automatic with Touch Shift manual gear selection.
