As the world cozies up to the idea of a four-door sports car, Honda's latest concept throws in a hybrid-powered, mid-engine configuration as a twist. A radical enhancement over the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) in the Civic hybrid, the DualNote combines a 3.5-liter DOHC V-6 engine with electric motor assist to achieve a combined 400-horsepower total, distributed to all four wheels. The potent, environmentally friendly output is kept in check by employing Active Torque Transfer System (ATTS) and Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) technologies. The Buck Rogers interior features computer game-like displays befitting the sci-fi four-seater. The three-dimensional instrument cluster incorporates in-lane driving control and lane center deviation warning technology, and alerts to incoming e-mail or phone calls.
