Each year, Motor Trend and Liberty Productions travel across the country with massive new vehicle show, offering consumers and enthusiasts a chance to peruse the latest machines in a family-oriented, non-sales environment. For shoppers especially, these events provide a great opportunity to kick tires, sit in cars, conveniently compare offerings, and possibly discover some new models that could best suit their vehicular needs. To offer a look at these massive events, we caught up with the national tour while the traveling road crew was preparing to open the Central Florida International Auto Show in Orlando.
The Orange County Convention Center minutes from Disney World was filled with hundreds of new vehicles, exotic cars, modified compacts, and concept cars. Many notable machines are featured below in photos, but other interesting new vehicles on hand included the Aston Martin DB7 Vantage, 2004 Buick Rainer, Chrysler PT Turbo, single-seat Corbin Sparrow, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, Honda Element, Infiniti G35, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Lincoln Aviator, Mitsubishi Outlander, Nissan 350Z, Saturn Ion, Subaru Baja, and even a Segway Human Transporter.
Like all Motor Trend shows, the Orlando event played host to numerous family-oriented activities with a special Ronald McDonald's show, and appearances by Spider-Man and Central Florida Crimeline Program's robot "Cash MyCall." Older show goers may want to join a in video game competition hosted by a local radio station, or check out the virtual-reality Saturn CyberBike and Saturn Cycling Team. For many, the highlight would be a chance to meet 2002 NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Tony Stewart and ask for an autograph.
