Chevy aspires to continue its truck momentum with the all-new 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, a compact SUV with fresh styling and spacious, flexible interior. On sale in 2004, the Equinox benefits from a Vortec 3.4-liter/185-hp V-6 engine and standard five-speed automatic transmission; buyers may choose between front-wheel or all-wheel-drive models. Ride and handling are enhanced by MacPherson struts up front combined with an independent four-link rear suspension with coil springs. Stopping power is provided by standard vented front disc brakes with dual piston calipers and rear drum brakes, with Bosch ABS system optional.
