Chevy aspires to continue its truck momentum with the all-new 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, a compact SUV with fresh styling and spacious, flexible interior. On sale in 2004, the Equinox benefits from a Vortec 3.4-liter/185-hp V-6 engine and standard five-speed automatic transmission; buyers may choose between front-wheel or all-wheel-drive models. Ride and handling are enhanced by MacPherson struts up front combined with an independent four-link rear suspension with coil springs. Stopping power is provided by standard vented front disc brakes with dual piston calipers and rear drum brakes, with Bosch ABS system optional. Equinox's functionality is enhanced by flexible seating and abundant storage.
