Toyota announced plans to expand its involvement in NASCAR beyond the Goody's Dash series to include a bold effort in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2004. Supplying a six truck field, Toyota Racing Development (TRD) will design, develop, and build a pushrod, cabureted V-8. These 358-cubic-inch engines will produce 650 horsepower, which party-crashing Toyota hopes will be enough to propel the full-size truck into victory lane. The Tundra NASCAR trucks will make their speedway debut next year in Daytona.
