2003 Chicago Auto Show

GMC continues its tradition of professional-grade trucks by introducing the all-new Canyon midsize pickup to the lineup. Destined for production by year-end, Canyon offers a choice of two Vortec engines, the standard 2.8-liter/175-hp Vortec inline four-cylinder or an optional 3.5-liter/220-hp inline five-cylinder powerplant, linked to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Space and function options are many, as the truck is available with two- or four-wheel-drive; regular, extended, or crew cab configurations; and with a choice of heavy-duty or offroad suspension. Canyon's 6-foot cargo box (5-foot cargo box on crew cabs) also features two-tier loading and a locking tailgate.
