A powerful name from Mercury's past, the Montego, will return next year as a contemporary sedan, one of the four all-new Mercurys to be introduced over the next three years. The upscale Montego flaunts elegant modern lines with a distinctive "waterfall" grille flanked by high-intensity discharge headlamps. Interior details include a two-tone instrument panel accented by a satin aluminum steering wheel, and soft-touch materials throughout the cabin. Underhood, the 3.0-liter V-6 Duratec engine mates to a choice of two transmissions, including a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that provides smoother operation and improved fuel economy.
