Mercury's all-new 2004 Monterey minivan goes on sale in the fall of 2003, providing interior luxury, design, and functionality generally reserved for a luxury sedan. Based on the same platform as the Ford Windstar, the all-new Mercury Monterey will feature heated and cooled front seats, fold-into-the-floor third-row seats, abundant safety technologies, and innovative Mercury features such as forward and reverse sonar parking sensors. Power comes from a 4.2-liter/200-horse V-6 mated to a fast-acting hydraulic automatic transmission, while stopping comes via front and rear vented disc brakes with standard ABS.
