Adventure is on the horizon with Nissan's Dunehawk concept, a tough seven-seat SUV that is destined to be capable both on- and off-road. A rugged ladder frame chassis, high ground clearance with short front and rear overhangs, and jumbo 20-inch wheels promise performance on difficult terrain and for towing. Its imposing design features smooth surfaces noticeably absent of door handles or rearview mirrors--entry is via touchpads and dashboard screens use cameras to display what's behind. Inside, an overhead aircraft-style center console offers stowage, HVAC outlets, and DVD monitor. Following Nissan's recent design trend, the center console is flanked by a glazed roof that creates an airy interior ambience.
