With a Stomp-like dance and percussion number, Mazda revealed its all-new 3 sedan and wagon in Frankfurt. These stylish cars are based on the new global Ford compact platform that underpins the new Volvo S40 (also revealed in Germany) and the next-generation Focus. Perhaps even better looking than the attractive Protege range, the 3 improves on the breed with a larger interior with a clean, sporty design, a more rigid platform, and more powerful engines. Five variants of the MZR four-cylinder engine family will be offered around the globe with choice of five-speed manual or four-speed Activematic transmission. A sport appearance package will be offered with distinct fascias, aerodynamic package, roof/decklid spoiler, and fog lamps.
