The majestic new Pininfarina-designed Maserati Quattroporte builds upon the tradition started with the first Quattroporte model in 1963 by combining a luxury sedan with a sporting engine and chassis. With a distinctly Italian design, the new Quattroporte promises to dramatically expand the reach for the revitalized Maserati brand. With nearly 400 horsepower from the 4.2-liter DOHC V-8, the Quattroporte will deliver true Trident-grade performance, with a claimed 0-62-mph time of 5.2 seconds and 171-mph top speed. Well-rounded dynamics are ensured by Skyhook adaptive damping system, cross-drilled Brembo brakes, and choice of 18- or 19-inch wheels. Likewise, the pampering interior offers not only hedonistic fine materials and high-technology features, but also numerous opportunities for personalization. This fine coach is expected to be available early 2004 at just shy of $100,000.
