2003 SEMA Show
Like many enthusiasts, we were anxious to see what GM had cooked up for the GTO. Not put off by the "Autocross" name, we were pleased to discover that the muscle has been toned, as well. The 5.7-liter LS1 V-8 engine has been pumped up with a new camshaft and LS6 (think Corvette Z06) heads to boost power to 400 horses. The dynamics were improved by simply upgrading to Stainless Steel Brakes Corp. rotors and calipers and 18-inch BF Goodrich g-force T/A KD performance tires. Other modifications come right from the Pontiac accessories catalog, including front and rear fascia extensions, rocker panel, rear spoiler, and symmetrical dual exhaust. The best part of this hot car is that most elements to build your own are available at your local dealership.
