Lexus commissioned Rod Millen Special Vehicles to explore the performance potential of the sporty IS platform when motivated by the normally aspirated 4.3-liter V-8 from the GS430. Built to be driven hard and often, this Lexus is no trailer queen: realistic performance modifications include custom-made tubular stainless-steel headers, dual high-flow catalysts, and low-restriction mufflers. A resulting estimated 340 horsepower make their way to the pavement via Getrag six-speed manual transmission linked to the GS430 driveline and a 3.789:1 limited-slip differential. The double-wishbone suspension benefits from adjustable height coilovers with 16-way adjustable TEIN shock absorbers. Stopping power is provided by Brembo four-piston aluminum calipers clamped onto vented and cross-drilled 355x32mm front and 345x28mm rear brakes mounted to SpeedStar SSR 18x8-inch front and 18x9-inch rear wheels wrapped by sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Grip (225/40ZR18 front, 265/35ZR18 rear) tires. Front and rear spoilers and sideskirts are by Rhys Millen, and Foose Design slathers the whole caboodle in a rich red and black paint scheme.
