2003 Geneva Motor Show

First shown at Detroit, Kia carves its own interpretation of crossover with its genre-defying KCD-1 Slice concept. Bringing a high cute factor to the mini-SUV party, Slice seats six passengers in three rows of seats that can be folded to accommodate a variety of cargo challenges. Solenoid-actuated "suicide" doors ease side loading and present a large entryway into the vehicle. Inside, the futuristic orange and silver dash features a popup LCD display and cool green instrument glow. A modest-sized vehicle with SUV pretenses and car-like dynamics, the Slice is powered by a 2.7-liter V-6 engine, and rides on an independent suspension. While no production plans have been announced, Kia is sending the Slice on the auto shows circuit to gauge public reaction.
