Center stage at the Audi booth is the luxury maker's high-tech flagship, the Audi A8 L 6.0 quattro. As the name reveals, this aluminum-intensive premium sedan is powered at all four wheels by a 450-hp W-12 engine. The 12-cylinder powerplant is teamed with a six-speed Tiptronic transmission with Sport mode, enabling the driver to race 0-60 mph in just over five seconds. Road holding is enhanced with an adaptive air suspension that continuously varies damper settings to optimize dynamics and comfort. Distinct grille and LED headlamp treatment, as well as trapezoidal exhaust tailpipes, announce the W-12's presence. This Teutonic super sedan goes on sale in the U.S. market by end of 2004.
