Since introduced in 1999, the Denali trim designation has come to mean luxury, with distinct exterior trim and interior features setting these special editions above the standard GMC models. The name will be applied to the midsize Envoy and three-row Envoy XL for 2005, carrying on the established tradition. Standard features include such luxuries as air suspension, interior noise reduction, leather power/heated seats, Bose audio system, headlamp washers, electric adjustable pedals, and special trim. Underhood will be a 5.3L/290-hp Gen IV V-8 engine, with XL models receiving Displacement on Demand mid year. GMC disclosed that for 2006, Envoy Denali models will come standard with 18-inch wheels and be available with a vehicle stability system. While these vehicles are best enjoyed behind the wheel, fellow motorists will be able to discern the Denali models by a distinct front fascia and grille. Envoy Denali and Envoy XL Denali are scheduled to arrive in showrooms in the first quarter of 2005.
