Volkswagen claims its lovely concept C is a design study that demonstrates the possibility for a hardtop convertible that could eventually be slotted above the New Beetle Convertible. Developed from the start to be a cabriolet, the concept C is also a full-fledged four-seat coupe thanks to an innovative electro-hydraulic folding steel hardtop with an integrated sliding glass sunroof. Positioned in the lower-mid-class segment, unlike many cars of this style, concept C promises easy-entry rear seats with a comfortable and ergonomic design for rear passengers and offers 14 cubic feet of stowage and room for skis with the top up. Motivation is thanks to a 2.0-liter/107-hp fuel-injected engine linked to a six-speed manual transmission, and it rides on a wide track for exceptional handling and agility. Volkswagen says this car is a view of things to come. We say, "Bring it on."
