2004 Geneva Motor Show

The MG Rover Group celebrates its centennial anniversary with a top-of-the-line touring sedan, the Rover V8, an illustrious landyacht descended from the archetypal Rover P5B. Distinguished by an exclusive front-end treatment and a bespoke interior originally derived from the Connoisseur SE specifications, the V8 promises new levels of luxury, comfort, and quality. Inside, leather seats, light oak wood, and plush carpets, along with GPS navigation, in-car teletext TV, Harman-Kardon audio, and multi-disc DVD entertainment pamper the driver's senses. Built from Rover's large car 75 platform, the V8 is motivated by a Ford-sourced inline-mounted 255-hp/4.6-liter engine promising maximum speeds above 150 mph, with acceleration to 60 mph below 7 seconds. Nobody can say how much fuel it would burn in that effort, but we're certain it would be an extremely comfortable race.
