Small, folding top cars are all the rage now in Europe and Opel wants a piece of the action, using Geneva to introduce the Tigra Twin Top to compete with Peugeot's successful 206 CC. The new Tigra Twin Top features an electro-hydraulic, retractable steel roof giving the sporty two-seater a dual coupe or cabriolet personality. Thanks to its clever folding-top construction wherein the roof folds down into the trunk, the Tigra still has a very usable trunk, both as coupe or as a cabrio, providing more than 8 cubic feet of storage space. Powered by a variety of ECOTEC four-cylinder engines, GM expects the Tigra Twin Top, along with the recently introduced, Golf-sized Astra, will be an important part of their efforts to revitalize the Opel brand in Europe.
