In a separate exhibition hall decorated with strands of origami paper birds, Lexus introduced its third new concept car within the past year, the LF-C. This coupe is an early look at the next generation IS line, which will also include a two-door model. Special attention was paid to styling, with the goal to put as much emphasis on design as the brand has historically placed on quality. Compared against the current IS, the LF-C rides on a wheelbase that measures 5.1 inches longer, with a 5-inch wider track and 2-inch lower ride height. The Lexus Future Coupe brought two pleasant surprises: it has a retractable hard top, with provisions for targa-style configuration and it will be available with a V-8 engine with a sequential automatic transmission. Lexus suggested that this BMW 3 Series competitor will be a 2007 model, following about a year after the next-generation GS. Click Here to see photo gallery.
