Join Motor Trend and step behind the doors of the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. Each November, the Specialty Equipment Market Association draws more than 100,000 of the industry's brightest minds from over 100 countries to the Las Vegas Convention Center, for a chance to see the season's hottest aftermarket products and showcase the industry's newest performance trends.
Unlike our other auto show coverage, the only way to experience the one million square feet of exhibits found in the Las Vegas Convention Center is to be an industry insider, as the SEMA show is not open to the general public. Like bees to honey, the SEMA Show attracts industry leaders, automotive insiders, factory reps, aftermarket deities, wholesale buyers, and auto scribes, all searching for new ways to pollenate their business.
Comfortable shoes are mandatory for surveying the 11 miles of aisles; displays are segmented into ten market-based sections, with a New Products Showcase that features more than 1,100 newly introduced parts, tools, and components. In addition, the SEMA show provides attendees with educational seminars, product demonstrations, special events, networking opportunities and more. The show opens to automotive insiders from November 1 through 4, 2005.
Motor Trend's editors have returned from Las Vegas, and are still putting the finishing touches on our coverage here. To narrow our focus, we've keept focused on official automaker project vehicles and endorsed aftermarket build-ups. From these, we can often capture an early look at future model variants, parts to be sold through dealers, and glean the influences to affect next-generation products. Check back as the coverage continues to grow.
