Well, Ford may not be doing a Lightning, but Saleen has come out with its high-performance version of the F-150. The Super Cab Sport Truck S331, dubbed "Thunder" within Saleen, will be offered with two engine options: normally aspirated, 24-valve, 325-horsepower, 5.4-liter V-8 or the supercharged version, with 450 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. Saleen features include an exhaust with twin side pipes, Saleen Racecraft suspension, 23-inch seven-spoke wheels with BFG 305/40R23 tires, 15-inch front slotted and vented discs with six-piston calipers (13.7-inch discs in the rear), and interior and exterior styling cues. The trucks should be on sale in July 2006 as 2007 models at Saleen dealers.
