Volkswagen Golf Variant
Volkswagen has launched the fashionably late wagon variant of the Jetta under the Golf Variant nameplate. Available with a choice of two diesel and two gasoline engines, the Golf Variant boasts an ample 24.4 cubic feet of cargo space that grows to 54.7 cubic feet with the back seats folded. A choice of four engines - two gasoline and two diesel - will be available at launch. Gasoline options will consist of either a 1.4-liter 140 horsepower twincharged four or a 2.0-liter 200 horsepower turbo four. Diesel fans will be able to choose between a 1.9-liter 105 horsepower four and a 2.0-liter 140 horsepower four. Cargo capacity - a wagon's calling card - is an ample 24.4 cubic feet. Folding down the rear seats expands the area to a cavernous 54.7 cubic feet.
