At the Chicago auto show, Nissan introduced a longer-wheelbase Titan alongside a refreshed Armada and a V-8 Pathfinder.

The 2008 Titan adds the long-wheelbase version for a total of four bed sizes (minimum 5 feet, 5 inches, maximum 8 feet) and a new Titan PRO-4X model that slots between SE and LE. All Titans get a minor restyle, new seats, revised dash, and more options like XM Satellite Radio, heated leather bench seat, and larger DVD screen.

For the first time, the Pathfinder is now offered with a V-8. It's essentially the same 5.6 as used in the Titan and Armada, but at press time, Nissan quoted the torque as "300-plus pound-feet" and allowing a tow rating of 7000 pounds (the 266-horsepower, 4.0-liter V-6 remains standard). The V-8 lets the Pathfinder compete with the Grand Cherokee and 4Runner among others and gets a series of midlife upgrades and refinements to styling and electronics.

Nissan's big-bus Armada receives a similar makeover for 2008, including a new front end and options like 20-inch wheels, XM with real-time traffic, power-folding third row, heated steering wheel, and entertainment upgrades.
