If the Detroit auto show is any indicator, things are starting to improve in the automotive industry. A lot of SUVs and crossovers are on display at the most influential show in North America, and we’ve heard rumors that there may be some big surprises to be unveiled during this year’s event. On the crossover side, General Motors is revealing its GMC Acadia Denali and Granite concept. Ford offers the production version of the Explorer, based on the unibody Explorer America concept. Ford also has the 2011 Edge and its sibling 2011 Lincoln MKX. Mini’s got its Beachcomber concept, which is based on the Countryman crossover. And Chrysler is showing off several special edition vehicles, including Jeep’s Wrangler Mountain, Wrangler Islander, Liberty Renegade, and Dodge Nitro Detonator. To see all the trucks and SUVs as they are revealed.

Remember, we'll be bringing you live coverage straight from Cobo Hall January 11 and 12.
