BMW X1
The X1 is BMW's latest foray into the crossover market. Following the huge initial success of the X6, BMW has been working on a new crossover based on the 1 Series platform. The X1 is expected to share most of its technical features with the 1 Series, such as the 3.0L inline-six engine producing 230 hp and the twin turbodiesel I-4 making 204 hp, but it's not expected to get the top-level 300-hp twin-turbo inline-six. The X1 is expected to get BMW's X-Drive all-wheel-drive system, though. Transmission choices are expected to be either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.
