Robby Gordon Off-Road Dakar Hummer
NASCAR driver Robby Gordon has not only competed in stock car and open-wheel racing, but off-road as well. Most recently, Gordon finished the famed 2009 Dakar Rally in third place overall, behind the wheel of his tube-chassis H3 race truck. Despite similarities to Baja trophy trucks, the Dakar Hummer features a fully enclosed, air-conditioned cockpit with a windshield and side windows. Powering the H3 is a production-based General Motors V-8.

With Gordon a worthy competitor off paved asphalt, expect to see his Off-Road Dakar Hummer back in South America for the 2010 Dakar Rally.

Rod Hall Racing H3 Alpha

Rod Hall Racing’s Hummer H3 Alpha also will be on display in Vegas. The H3 Alpha competes in the Best in the Desert and SCORE International series’ full-size stock class, open to mildly-modified, production-based vehicles with stock frames, stock suspension designs, and production-based engines. With Chad Hall behind the wheel, the H3 Alpha was the first stock class vehicle to finish in the 2008 Baja 500 and 2007 and 2008 Baja 1000.
