Hummer rarely misses an opportunity to flex its off-road prowess, in and out of the showroom. This year’s SEMA show will be no different, as Hummer will have two concepts and two Hummer race vehicles on display.

H3 Moab

Attaching Moab to any model name means you’d better bring your A-game. The Hummer H3 Moab concept starts with an H3 Alpha and adds a Rancho four-inch lift up front with a custom rear spring-over conversion. Meaty 35-inch tires are the lone points of contact with the ground, while generous amounts of underbody shielding keep sharp edges from penetrating vital components, including the factory front- and rear-locking differentials. Front and rear cameras provide electronic assistance for those especially tough-to-see trails, and a Warn XD9000 winch is available, just in case.

In addition to the increased ground clearance, the H3 Moab also adds a bevy of trail-appropriate accessories, including a roof basket for cargo, a brush guard, and numerous off-road lights for extra night-time visibility.

H3T Sportsman

The H3T Sportsman concept was built for the outdoor recreationist. In order to reach Sportsman standards, a factory H3T Alpha gains an extra 70 horsepower, revised suspension components, and additional storage capacity in the form of in-bed, lockable storage boxes.

In order to massage another 70 horses from the 5.3-liter V-8, a higher-lift camshaft, LS2 cylinder heads, and a custom, 3.5-inch exhaust system have been installed. After power upgrades, the Sportsman receives a new set of shoes in the form of Hummer Accessory 20-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch rubber. New suspension parts, including Light Racing JounceShocks and two-inch-diameter Rod Hall Racing piggyback reservoir-type performance shocks, help with off-road handling.

For the avid hunter and fisherman, the lockable storage boxes will prove an invaluable asset. Other functional exterior accessories include off-road lights and a Warn winch.
