Radio Flyer / 1976 B1600 Mazda Pickup
This supersized Radio Flyer is built on the chassis of a 1976 B1600 Mazda Pickup and uses the stock four-cylinder, four-speed manual transmission. The custom wagon was built by Fred Keller and Judy Foster of Wasilla, Alaska. The body is made of half-inch marine plywood, layers of fiberglass, PVC, foamcore, and epoxy resin. Painted Viper Red, this wagon measures 13½ feet long, 68-inches wide, and 53-inches tall. The chassis was shortened 2 inches, leaf springs reworked, and coil springs add to the chassis and rear axle. A 13-inch wagon wheel replaced the stock steering wheel, and O’Reilly custom racing seats replace the stock Mazda seats. White Full Moon 14-inch covers finish off the wagon’s nostalgic look.
Volkswagen Diesel Powered Jeep
HPA Motorsports has heard the cries of the off-road jeep community and have built a TDI conversion for the Jeep YJ with by using the 1.9-L 4-cylinder turbodiesel from Volkswagen with 190 horsepower and 289 pound-feet of torque with a HPA power flash with a 40-47-mpg range. The engine also features HPA’s air-to-water intercooler system. HPA also rebuilt the Jeep AX-5 gearbox, added a SPEC Stage 3+ clutch disk and pressure plate, Rugged Ridge slip yoke eliminator and rear CV driveshaft, Alloy USA Dana front and rear Axles, Percision Gear 4.10 Ring and Pinion set, Eaton front and rear diffs, and a 2.5-inch Magnaflow cat back exhaust. The exterior was dressed up for heavy off-roading with Rugged Ridge front bumper, stinger, gas tank skidplate, and 8500 synthetic rope winch; Garvin Swing Way rear bumper, trial rack and accessory brackets, and Expedition roof rack; MetalCloak Overline tube fenders, 6-inch flat flare, corner guards, and rocker rails. The Jeeps has a 4-inch Rugged Ridge ORV lift kit and sits on 17x8.5 Procomp 8128 wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler MTR tires.
