As is the case with every auto show, we hear rumors about what will -- and what won't -- be revealed there. And with a show as big as the Detroit auto show, we have been overwhelmed with news bits and pieces. We know there are going to be new vehicles in the entry-level-luxury SUV category (the next-generation Acura RDX and all-new Buick Encore), plus we hear big changes are coming to a couple of full-size SUVs. One well-established sport/utility gets a major redo (Pathfinder), too. There will be a lot to see this year -- and there may be some surprises, too.

Smart For Us Concept Front Left View
We think it might be too small to get the pickup truck name, but the newest concept from Smart, makers of the diminutive ForTwo coupe, has a tailgate and bed, and it's called the For-us.

2013 Acura RDX Side.JPG
Acura is moving its compact crossover -- the RDX -- toward the center of the premium crossover segment and away from its sport-oriented first-generation model. We called the 2007 RDX "the Evo of crossover," but the prototype version of the 2013 Acura RDX debuting at the 2012 Detroit auto show exchan
Audi Q3 Vail Concept
As the popularity of crossovers continues to build, even the luxury automakers are getting in on the game. Audi has talked about bringing its little Q3 luxury crossover to the U.S. for a while now, and we'll finally see one on U.S. soil at the Detroit show, but only in concept form.
2013 Lexus LX570 Left Side View
Friends, meet the 2013 LX570. While it's still based on the 200 series Toyota Land Cruiser, there are enough changes inside and out for Lexus to call it new.
