2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel
Cayenne Diesel Packs 406 lb-ft of Torque, Can Tow 7716 lbs.
Porsche has officially announced that the Cayenne Diesel will be making its way to the States in time for the 2013 model year. The Cayenne Diesel was the first diesel ever offered by Porsche, and it will be Stuttgart's first diesel offering in the United States.
Powering the 2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel will be a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6, good for 240 hp and a stout 406 lb-ft of torque. Porsche says its turbodiesel Cayenne will be capable of accelerating from a standstill to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds -- likely a conservative estimate. The Cayenne Diesel will be limited to a top speed of 135 mph.
The 2013 Cayenne Diesel will not only be decently quick, but it's also expected to return excellent fuel economy and tow up to 7716 pounds. Porsche expects the Cayenne Diesel to be capable of traveling 740 miles on the highway on a single tank of fuel, though official EPA numbers are still pending.
The Cayenne Diesel will hit dealers in September at a price of $56,725, including destination. The 2013 Cayenne Diesel will fit between the base Cayenne and the Cayenne S in the Cayenne model lineup.
