Land Rover/Range Rover 25th Anniversary Concepts/Special Editions
Land Rover chose the 2012 New York Auto Show to celebrate its 25 years in the U.S. market. To commemorate the occasion, the company showed off four vehicles, two concepts, and two firmly bound for showrooms. The DC100 made yet another auto show appearance, making it seem like it may be production-bound in some form soon. The company also showed a convertible concept of the Range Rover Evoque Coupe, which looks nearly production-ready, but no firm production commitments yet.
Bound for U.S. showrooms soon are the 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Limited Edition, which adds red exterior trim and brake calipers, carbon-fiber interior trim, and an 825-watt, 17-speaker harman/kardon sound system. Only 500 examples will be available in the U.S. market.
Not quite as exclusive, but still appropriately upscale is the 2012 Land Rover LR4 HSE Luxury Limited Edition. This model liberally lavishes leather throughout the interior, including the dashboard and door panels, adds dark Zebrano wood accents, and 20-inch "sparkle" alloy wheels. The 825-watt sound system in the Sport Supercharged model mentioned above is also offered on the HSE Luxury Limited Edition.
