Jeep may be a uniquely American brand, but it's popular worldwide, which is why Jeep chose the upcoming Paris Motor Show to showcase its new models for the Continent. The flagship model on display will be the Grand Cherokee SRT Limited Edition model, a special edition of the already exclusive Grand Cherokee SRT8. The European-spec model produces 468 horsepower from its 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 engine. Although the SRT8's fuel economy figures of 12 city, 18 highway already hit the pockets of American drivers hard, bear in mind European motorists pay as much as $10 a gallon for gasoline, so the SRT is even more of an indulgence there.

Next to be shown in Paris is the recently announced Jeep Wrangler Moab edition. The vehicle on display at Paris will wear new "Rock Lobster" red paint. The Moab edition splits the difference cost and content-wise between the mid-line Sahara model and flagship Rubicon.

Finally, Jeep will debut its Compass Overland model, bringing premium content to the brand's entry-level model in Europe.

All of Jeep's European models are offered in left- or right-hand drive with diesel options, with the Grand Cherokee offering a 3.0-liter V-6 turbodiesel; the Wrangler a 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel; and the Compass an available 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel. The Grand Cherokee is expected to offer a diesel option in the U.S. starting with the 2014 model year, reportedly carrying the EcoDiesel badge.
