SEMA 2003 - Theres no such thing as stock

Nissan brought a bunch of modified vehicles to SEMA, including a tricked-out Pathfinder with a unique, roof-mounted tent and a Frontier with an amazing 12-inch lift kit. However, for us, the Calmini Xterra was the cleanest Nissan SUV at the show. Since 1986, Calmini has been building modified Suzuki and Isuzu SUVs. In 2001, Calmini added Nissan to that list and so impressed the Nissan brass that it asked Calmini to create a special Xterra for the SEMA show.

Calmini enhanced the Xterra's already superb off-road ability and rugged looks by adding a three-inch lift system with anti-roll bar disconnects, 32-inch mud terrain tires on Eagle aluminum wheels, HD steering system, front winch bumper with Warn 9000-lb winch, tubular safari roof rack with four PIAA driving lights, rocker-panel skid rails, skidplates, rear-axle truss, and limited-slip front differential.

For increased performance, Calmini changed out the stock air intake and exhaust systems for higher-flowing, less-restrictive models. Calmini also installed a 3.92:1 transfer-case gear reduction kit, which lowers stock gearing by 94 percent to improve off-road- climbing abilities. On top of all the off-road options, the Xterra also received a Magellan GPS navigation system.
