The skies were blue, temperature just right, and all the custom cars and trucks were shining at the third annual Relaxin' on the Bayou Car and Truck Show Lafayette, Louisiana. Participants, vendors, and spectators turned out for what is one of Louisiana's fastest-growing shows, bringing over 400 show vehicles from all over the country.
If you enjoy checking out the latest products, vendor row was the place to be. In attendance were KIK, Weekend Celebrity, Cambered Video, Rim Pros, Killa Kustoms, and Pull-A-Part. And Dj Maze from St. Louis, Missouri, entertained the crowds at the event.
An eye-catcher at the show, this pristine 1967 GMC Sierra was built by Shawn Sammons of Eudora, Arkansas, with its super-clean two-tone paint job and bodywork. Nothing was left untouched, thanks to the guys at Silver Star Customs. The truck gets its lift by a full Accuair air ride suspension for that stanced-out look. Shawn is rolling on a set of B.A.D. Gunslingers, 20x8 inches in the front and 22x10 in the rear. Under the hood Shawn installed a GM LS motor. In the interior, Shawn made sure to keep it up to date but classy as well. He installed a Vintage Air A/C unit to stay cool while adding power windows for that modern touch.
One of my favorite parts of any truck show is the under-construction vehicles that come out. I like to mention this category when I go to these events because you get to see what people are working on and what amazing rides they have to look forward to in the future. One of these cool projects belongs to Donnie Arcemont, of Morgan City, Louisiana. It's a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 with too many creative mods to count. Inside and out, almost everything on this truck has been shaved or modified in some way. The interior is one great example: It sports a dashboard out of a 1959 Impala that's been sectioned to fit in the truck. The wheels are Raceline Speedsters 22-inchers all the way around, and the low stance of the truck is produced by a fully adjustable air ride system. The heart of the beast is a carbureted turbo 350. This is one bad truck you'll want to be on the lookout for!
