Record-setting Mississippi River flooding couldn't keep the guys and gals of Assorted Minis down as they pulled out all the stops to keep Showfest 2011 going strong. Faced with crazy weather, the show was forced to move to the Harrah's Hotel and Casino in Tunica, Mississippi, just days before the big event to avoid being flooded out of the Sam's Town Hotel and Casino. Even with the threat of flooding, more than 500 show vehicles made it, and over 2800 spectators followed. Luckily for the hotel stayed dry, along with the show. Sadly, the same could not be said about the casino.
Mike Barcia brought his 1996 Chevrolet 3500 Dually chassis dubbed No Compromise all the way from Tampa, Florida, and it was a hot attraction at the show. It looked as if no section was left untouched. Its paint was shot with HOK Euro Red and a few coats of Kosmic Clear for a smooth shine. The entire frame was capped, welded shut with seams and welds grinded down, and bodyworked.
The suspension was also hand-built front and back with modified control arms up front to a full custom four-link suspension in the rear. Throughout the frame there are CNC machined billet pieces to give it more detail. There also is plenty of chrome visible from every angle. The truck rolls on a set of Zreck custom 8-lug, 24-inch billet diesel wheels. The big motor is a fuel-injected 454 big-block with a dress-up kit to make it shine like the rest of the truck. Barcia has worked on the truck for about 8 years now.
Another showstopper was this 2009 Dodge Ram quad cab aptly named the Head Hunter, owned by Robbie and Keena Bryant. The exterior of the truck has an insane amount of detailed airbrush work and the painted scenes look like a 3-D horror movie. The interior features an Alpine surround sound system with Alpine Type R subs and amp.
The Ram sits on a set of 20-inch Fuel Hostage black wheels wrapped with a set of big 40-inch Nitto Mud Grapplers. The truck has a 3-inch body lift with an 18-inch 3rd Coast Suspension kit. A set of 2.0 Fox Dual Reservoir in the front and 2.5 Fox 2.5 shocks in the back give it the smooth ride you want out of a lifted truck. The truck is powered by a 5.7-l Hemi engine with a Diablo Sport Trinity tune, ARH long tube headers, Borla exhaust, and Airaid cold air intake system.
