Biloxi, Mississippi, is known for its beautiful beachfronts and its great nightlife -- but, to custom car and truck enthusiasts, it's for the site one of the wildest car, truck, and bike show on the coast. The ninth annual Scrapin' the Coast! took place June 24-26 and was hosted by Greg Miller and his team of devoted car hoons.

Almost 2000 vehicles and close to 18,000 spectators came out to enjoy the weekend and fill up the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The event was never boring with so many things to do at the show. Spectators were entertained with a burnout contest, hydraulic competition, live bands and DJ, and a huge after-party at the beach.

We scoped out Dwayne Augillard's custom 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. Dwayne, a native of Gonzales, Louisiana, decided the stock taillights were not going to work for him, so he crafted in a set of 2005 Range Rover taillights. Up front, he ditched the whole front end and replaced it with a 2008 front clip and molded it all in. It was then treated to a slick silver and charcoal two-tone paint job. The truck was brought down to the ground with a full air suspension system. The front control arms were modified to handle the big 26-inch Lexani LS 10 wheels. The truck is powered by a 5.3 Vortec with K&N air intake, and a three-chamber Flowmaster exhaust. For the interior, Dwayne knew the factory audio would not be enough, so he had a Pioneer premium sound system installed. Dwayne has surely built himself a one of a kind truck.

Jason Freeman's custom Rescue Green 2001 Chevrolet Silverado also caught the attention of many attendees. I've been following the build on his truck for a while, and was excited to see the truck in person for the first time! Jason's truck sports a '03 GMC Sierra front grille and headlights with a Chevrolet HD hood to give it that tough look. The truck is completely shaved all around. The eye-popping paint flows to the inside of the bed with a matching notch cover and a custom-built cedar wood floor nicely finished with stained. The interior features a bench seat from a 1979 Chevrolet C10 and a dashboard from a 1964 Chevrolet Impala. This truck gets its low look from a full air suspension, and it rolls on a set of massive 24-inch Rockstars from B.A.D.

We look forward to returning to Biloxi for Scrapin' The Coast in 2012, and we hope to see a lot of you readers there as well with your pride and joy! Or just come and hang out and support the custom car and truck scene! Thanks to Greg Miller and his amazing staff for always showing us a great time! We look forward to Scrapin' the Coast 2012!
