Trucks Bling in Louisiana

The Siknic Custom Car and Truck Show in Gonzales, Louisiana, grows bigger and bigger every year. It attracts spectators from all over Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, and other surrounding states to the Lamar Dixon Fairgrounds. This year's show featured more than 600 show vehicles.

There were many things to do other than just check out all the show vehicles. For those who enjoy some smoky burnouts, there was -- you guessed it -- a burnout competition, and for audio fanatics, there was a USACi stereo contest. Show vendors such as Innovative Audio, Jamey Jordan Seat Co., Kik, and Mad Gear Apparel were in attendance.

There were lots of shiny trucks and blinged-out wheels of all shapes and sizes, but two trucks in particular caught our attention:

Sean Cooley from Port Arthur, Texas, is the owner of this flawless two-tone 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. He took on the task of shaving the door handles, tailgate handle, and molding in the rear roll pan. The paint is a Hyundai Lime Rock Green with black two-tone, split with a custom purple strip painted by Cooley himself. The dash was also painted to match the exterior. The suspension was modified with a full air ride set up with a custom 2-link in the rear with a Panhard bar. He also installed a set of custom lower control arms and relocated the upper control arms in the front. Some custom sheetmetal work was also performed on this Silverado to make room for the big 26-inch billet Intro Twisted Vista wheels. In the performance department, Cooley installed a K&N Air intake System.

Juan De La Hoya from Marble Falls, Texas, is another custom truck enthusiast who brought his GMC to Louisiana. The first thing you notice about his truck is the beautiful slick paint job, made up of custom mixed colors created by himself. The stance of the vehicle is achieved by a custom air bag suspension, including a two-link setup in the rear, and custom-built control arms in the front to be allowed to tuck the big 24-inch Raceline Deceptive wheels. Everything has been smoothed out and nothing was left untouched. This truck only took six months to build and looks amazing.
