Staff Editor, Truck Trend Network 1472 Articles

Like his colleagues, Brett has a love of cars and trucks that began early, identifying vehicles in the parking lot based on their badges before he could even read. His parents also had to deal with the clutter of magazines, brochures, and sketches littering his room as a kid, to say nothing of the endless arguments between Brett and his older brothers about which vehicles were best. Brett turned to the printed word in college, lucking himself into a job with the Truck Trend Network as a staff editor.

Towing a heavy load on a downgrade can be a nerve-wracking (or even dangerous) experience. But the General Motors eBoost Trailer Brake Concept may help make towing that much more stable and secure, thanks to an upgraded braking system integrated into the trailer, kept in close communication with the truck’s stoppers. The punch line? A

Toyota is streamlining its U.S. production plans by consolidating the manufacture of related vehicles. The first example of this will be Toyota Sequoia production, which is slated to move to Texas in 2022. 2020 Ram 1500 Rebel EcoDiesel: Pickup Truck of the Year Contender
We proudly gave our Billet Piston award to the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 lineup last year, with credit going to the truck’s excellent interior, strong work ethic, and refined road manners. And a great deal of our appreciation for that truck came from the fact that Ram sent us a Rebel to play with alongside

2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LTZ: Pickup Truck of the Year Contender
The competent-but-polarizing 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 wasn’t the runaway critical success GM wanted it to be, so we weren’t surprised the company pulled out all the stops when introducing the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD. The larger Silverado variant comes with a long list of features truck customers will likely appreciate, including an all-new

2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport S: 2020 Pickup Truck of the Year Contender
Right off the bat, let’s get one thing out of the way: You cannot be the least bit self-conscious when driving something as distinctive (read: ugly) as the 2020 Jeep Gladiator. In fact, the only acceptable soundtrack in a truck like this is totally carefree music (“Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift, “Rock You Like

2019 Ram 3500 Heavy Duty: 2020 Pickup Truck of the Year Contender
For Pickup Truck of the Year, we generally prefer our test vehicles to be no larger than a ¾-ton, but occasionally, we do make exceptions. The 2019 Ram 3500 Heavy is one example, and we allowed it to compete for one simple reason—we wanted that high-output Cummins 6.7L I-6, replete with 1,000 lb-ft of torque.

2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 Duramax: 2020 Pickup Truck of the Year Contender
Last year, we found a lot to like about the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4. Equipped with a brawny 6.2L V-8 and 10-speed automatic, it featured excellent styling, Olympic-sprinter reflexes, and a cushy highway ride. However, it was let down by a relative paucity of luxury features and uncontrolled suspension motions off-road. Well, we’re happy

Three Restomod Builds Go Big at SEMA 2019
Ford, Mopar, and Chevrolet brought their A game to the restomod scene at the 2019 SEMA Show, and they each went about it in a totally different way. Ford kept the exterior of its fabulous 1968 Ford Bronco looking relatively stock, keeping the most significant upgrades invisible. Mopar started with a 1968 Dodge D200 pickup,

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 is all-new, and it looks a bit more conventional than the current small crossover.
