Plain Jane
Cornelius Stewart of Abingdon, Maryland, refers to his '00 Chevy Silverado as Plain Jane. The idea was to have a cool-looking truck with minor modifications. Cornelius started by tinting the windows, painting the bumpers, and adding Euro taillights and a cowl-induction Goodmark hood. Under the fenders, Cornelius added a set of 20x9-inch Ultra wheels wrapped in aftermarket skins. The interior features indigo gauges and Katkin leather seats. Entertainment upgrades include a Sony CD player with two Kenwood amplifiers and Polk speakers.
Wild Ranger
As a member of the United States Marines, Christopher Betts of Carrollton, Georgia, is used to kicking tail. Christopher took the same approach when building his '95 Ford Ranger. The Ranger features a 6/7 DJM drop with 18-inch Mondero B-52 wheels encased in aftermarket rubber. The exterior modifications include a Trenz billet grille, Euro taillights, a billet antenna, APC sport mirrors, a Checkmate bed lid, and a roll pan. For a cleaner look, the emblems were stripped. The cockpit has a Panasonic head unit, two 15-inch Rockford Fosgate subwoofers, Kicker speakers, and an 800-watt MA Audio amplifier. Future upgrades include an Air Ride suspension, a new engine, and a custom paintjob. Christopher thanks his family, friends, and Low Life Kustoms back in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Safe Alternative
Christopher Washington of Thomasville, Alabama, admits that his wife and mother discouraged him from building a custom chopper. Their reasoning was the danger involved with such a bike. With safety in mind, Christopher opted to build this towering '00 GMC pickup. The truck features a 17-inch Whiplash suspension with 44-inch Boggers encircling 16x12-inch Weld Racing wheels. For improved airflow, a True Flow air intake, throttle body spacer, and dual exhaust were added. A Hypertech programmer was included for better performance. The exterior features Kodiak Sidewinder steps, Euro taillights, window vents, and a toolbox.
Grim Reaper
Matt Showalter from Connersville, Indiana, submitted this photograph of his '02 Ford F-150. The truck's ghoulish attributes are evident with the addition of a billet skull grille. The factory wheels were replaced with a set of 20-inch Helo Spec from Dealers Sport Trucks, wrapped by Goodyear Eagle GT2 P275/45R20 rubber
Outer modifications include a tonneau and custom graphics painted by Midway Graphics in Richmond. The stereo setup consists of a Pioneer CD player with a 600-watt amplifier, a MTX speaker box with three 10-inch subwoofers, and Pioneer 6x9-inch door speakers. Future upgrades will be a 2/4 suspension drop.
Editor's Note
Getting your truck into Readers' Rides is a snap - of the camera, that is. All it takes is a couple of good-quality photos of your ride that are in focus and well lit. Due to the volume of mail we receive, we regret that we cannot return photographs. Please shoot and send photos of your truck only (no people, pets, Polaroids, or printouts) to: Truckin' Magazine, Readers' Rides, 2100 E. Howell Ave., Ste. 209, Anaheim, CA 92806. It is important that you include a detailed description of the modifications you have made to your truck, including any interesting stories behind it. This can include information about the buildup or any special history the truck has.
