n Automotive News reports that GM is threatening to withhold delivery of the new H3 from those dealers that don't complete their expansion as stand-alone dealerships by March 2005.
Pontiac is getting its own version of the Theta platform named (Saturn VUE, Chevy Equinox) the Torrent.
Suzuki is reported to have a large SUV in development for the North American market. We may see it as early as 2006.
Seemingly a yearly battle, a new bill, AB2683, has been introduced by Assemblywoman Sally Leiber (D) to repeal California's 30-year rolling exemption for smog, replacing it with a provision requiring the permanent testing of all '76-and-later model-year vehicles.
American Honda Motor Company is voluntarily recalling about 600,000 Honda and Acura light-truck models with V-6 engines and automatic transmissions. Contact your dealer to see if you are affected.
