Digital Truck Renderings - Graphic Disorder - 2005 Dream Customs
Most years, automotive manufacturers don't come up with much new for the mini- and midsize-truck markets. Consumers are usually left with what amounts to, at most, a grille change or frontal fascia restyling on the same truck that was available the previous year. For many, these are enough changes, since they've already been won over by the body style the manufacturer has been building for a few years. In many cases, it just gives enthusiasts another round of modifications to make their truck look like the current model year by swapping parts.
For the '05 model year, however, there's a mixture of old and new when it comes to the lineup of compact trucks available to the consumer. Even with all the newer trucks to hit the market being larger than what we previously determined to be mini-trucks, we'll still claim them as our own. Sadly, you won't find a new Ford Ranger being sold anywhere, since Ford is still selling its '04 truck body as an '05. You will definitely see all-new versions, though, of your other favorite trucks in 2005, such as the Nissan Frontier, Toyota Tacoma, Dodge Dakota, and all-new Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon. To get a better idea of what these trucks would look like completely "built" with a Mini Truckin' flavor, we turned to Brandt Fuqua at Graphic Disorder. He put together some custom digital renderings of all the '05 models for you to gaze at and hopefully glean some new ideas to help you build your own new '05. Don't be afraid to take some of these ideas and apply them to your current project. (Don't worry, we threw an old Ranger in there for you die-hard Blue Oval guys.)
