HijackedJose Hinojos of Odessa, Texas, is the proud owner of this '02 Ford FX4. This truck has a 6-inch Fabtech suspension lift and a 3-inch body lift. It rides around Odessa on 39-inch rubber with a billet grille, and its two-tone body paint is a definite head turner. A 7-inch monitor complements the interior, and for great sound, a 10-inch subwoofer was installed.
Rust FreeThis '85 Chevy Silverado C10 from Chicago, belongs to Matt Moncada. From the moment Matt laid his eyes on this truck, he fell in love with it. Knowing it had the potential to be modified, he soon began his task by purchasing a 4/6 drop kit. But that wasn't enough, so Matt 'bagged the truck, added a 10-inch super step notch, a phantom billet grille, and Cragar SS polished rims with Bridgestone rubber.
Chromed OutJ.R. Gannon of Strongsville, Ohio, couldn't be more in love with his new '06 Lincoln Mark LT. Since purchasing the truck, so many ideas have been coming to mind. So far, J.R. has begun work on it by adding 22-inch Epic wheels, a Flowmaster exhaust, a tonneau cover, and chrome running boards. Some time in the near future, he plans on upgrading his interior by installing an extreme audio entertainment system.
Street'Z DeziresArturo Moreno's '03 Chevy Silverado has the people of Newman, California, spinning in their seats to take a glimpse of his truck. The truck cruises lowered on 3/4 drop and blinds viewers with its 20-inch Mizati wheels. To give it a finishing touch, Arturo installed a flamed-out grille and painted the truck red with pearl and silver tribal flames. His customizing plans include installing an air suspension.
Editor's Note: Getting your truck into Readers' Rides is a snap-of the camera, that is. All it takes is a couple of good-quality photos of your ride that are in focus and well-lit. Due to the volume of mail we receive, we regret that we cannot return photographs. Please shoot and send photos of your truck only (no people, pets, Polaroids, or printouts) to: Truckin' Magazine, Readers' Rides, 2400 E. Katella Ave., Ste. 700, Anaheim, CA 92806. It is important that you include a detailed description of the modifications you have made to your truck, including any interesting stories behind it. This can include information about the buildup or any special history the truck has.
Ridin' In BlueThis '03 Chevy Silverado belongs to Jeff Beard of Davidsonville, Maryland. Jeff began the crusade of changing his stock truck by dropping it 3 inches in the front and 5 inches in the back. He then added 20-inch American Racing Vanguard wheels wrapped in Goodyear rubber. The truck breathes through a Gibson after-cat exhaust and is customized up front with a billet grille. For superior sound, a Kenwood amp was installed along with two 10-inch Infinity 1030s behind the front seat.
Weslaco RamThis '03 Dodge Ram belongs to Servando Davila of Weslaco, Texas. Servando installed an RT body kit along with a set of 20-inch Akuza wheels. Although his truck was beginning to please him with its new look, Servando wanted better sound. So a Kenwood head unit with two 8-inch screens on the headrest was installed for better sound and entertainment.
Island StyleJohn Blas rides around Yona, Guam, in style behind the wheel of this new '05 Toyota Tacoma X-runner with a high-output V-6, a close-ratio six-speed, and a lowered suspension. Future mods include lowering the Taco even more and adding 20-inch Budnik M5 billet wheels to the rig.
Blue LightningTeal Metts from Glendale, California, has a '03 Ford F150 Lightning that sports Chrome Street Scene Speed Grilles with a Harley-Davidson Edition chrome grille, a Cervini Cobra R hood, a Cervini Cobra R front bumper cover, and a Sonic Blue paint job. Baer EradiSpeed Cross Drilled and Vented rotors bring the truck to a halt and, the iForged Aero two-piece 20x10-inch wheels were paintmatched to the truck. Burning rubber is easy with the 10-pound pulley attached to the Eaton supercharger.
S-10 XtremeJessica Vincent's truck is a '00 S-10 Xtreme with a 3-inch drop in the rear and a 2-inch drop in the front. It has shaved door handles, a shaved tailgate, and a Xenon front bumper. The engine has a few mods including a K&N GenII cold-air intake and a Hypertech Programmer. The interior has chrome window cranks and grab handles, dual gauge pod and gauges, and black-painted accessories. Future plans are to put in an air ride suspension, 20s, a hood, a bed cover, and a new interior, so cruising south Florida is more of an experience.
