The Story Of John Trevino's '02 Fullsize

The story of John Trevino is one of hardship, trials, tribulation, and enjoyment. Or it's the story of a converted off-roader, but whatever, you make the call. Back in the day, John got the bug to customize his '02 Silverado. Since he has worked at Desert Rat Offroad Center in Phoenix for the past 9 years, he has the hookup on the parts to make it happen. A few days later, he opened up some boxes, and the crew installed a 6-inch Fabtech lift, some big tires, and he was off to go romping in the tumbleweeds.
Now that's all well and good, but that ain't the truck you see here, is it? Yeah, it sure is. Somehow, John saw the light and decided that although it was really cool to be able to blow through the desert at 90 mph, it wasn't the best thing for cruising the streets every day. He decided he needed something a little more practical, but still super-cool, so he did the obvious thing-he 'bagged it. For a long time, John's truck was fully shaved and 'bagged with a full custom interior that was taking trophies left and right. You may remember it from the Bustin' Knuckles segment we did back in Mar. '05. There was a rumor going around town that John didn't even want to paint the truck and that he was fine with his white sealer. We're guessing he started that rumor, because soon after that, the truck was torn apart at H13 Kustoms, made ready for a killer paintjob, and prepped to take home some more trophies.

This is John's first custom build of any kind, and it's also the first time he's really been in "the scene," but he's taken it by force. John started up Perfect Poise, a booming car and truck club in the Phoenix area that in its brief history has put on a few events and is known for some crazy parties. The great thing about this truck is how many little details there are that usually go unnoticed upon first glance. There's a grip of detail in the paintwork, and just look at the smoothed inner fenderwells that most people would've cut out and forgotten about. Yeah, this is a killer ride.
A truck like this isn't built in a day, and John wouldn't have been able to do it without a little help from his friends. John would like to thank his club Perfect Poise, his family, John at Owen's Custom Paint, Russel at H13 Kustoms, Tony at Noise Audio, AEM, Trenz, and Bill at Bonspeed. A lot of people doubted that John would ever get this truck done, but the important thing was that he never doubted. And just think, this is John's first custom. We can't wait to see the next one.
